Shinsaibashi is famous as a town where you can get vintage clothing, browse variety goods shops or gallery , as well as teenagers gather and spend time.
I went for a walk from Konjaku-So Shinsaibashi through the busy area to Namba Shrine. Please use this article as a companion to your walk. 🙂
To American Village - the lively area with vintage clothing etc
First, exit Konjaku-So and start walking to the left.
When you see "DAIMARU," turn left here.
The area is lined with a variety of stores, and you can't help but wander from place to place.
Keep DAIMARU on your right-hand side and turn right at this corner.
Enter a narrow path like this. Keep walking straight.
The view of this area is what I imagine when I hear "Shinsaibashi" 🙂
Compared to the shopping street that are developed upwards as if competing for smaller lots, there are many spacious stores and office buildings around here.
After walking for a while, you will come to the end of the street.
Try to find a flashy/weird-shaped streetlamp at the corner and turn left.
From this point, walk one block to...
Amerika-mura (American Village)! The area has energetic and lively vibes where teenagers gather around.
It's been a few years now, but the Halloween night that I spent here was crazy.
Back to the unique streetlamp view. Turn right and go straight along this street.
You can always replenish your belly with Takoyaki and Bubble Tea around this area 😛
To Namba Shrine
After a 5-minute walk, cross the crosswalk and keep going.
Walk 4 blocks straight and turn right at this black building on your right.
Keep going forward.
Then you will see Namba Shrine on your left.
The lush greenery of summer and the blue sky looked great on the day.
That's all for the walking course, from Konjaku-So Shinsaibashi to Amerika-mura and Namba Shrine. Did you like it ? 🙂
