The stand is located just a minute walk from Konjaku-So Bentencho. It’s so close that you can spot it by simply putting your face out the window. It takes less than 5 minutes on foot from Bentencho Station.

We’ve always been curious about the place, and finally, we found a perfect timing during the workday and made it there for the first time.

In the small and cozy shop, a lady was busy frying chickens.

Here is what it looked like.

The lady seasoned the chicken with salt and pepper, adding a delightful kick to it.

I couldn’t help but wish for a pint of beer by my side…

I visited “Tugboat Taisho”, grand opend in 2020! It is a 20-minute walk from Konjaku-So Bentencho Osaka Bay, or by train, it’s one stop away on the Osaka Loop Line.

The website describes itself as “a complex facility with the role of a tugboat that pulls Taisho Ward’s urban development.

It was a typical summer day with wispy clouds that looked like brush strokes.

Cross the crosswalk to find TUGBOAT on your left hand. I was hungry then, so I got excited just by looking at the signs of various restaurants at the entrance! Once we got inside the facility, the wooden interior made us feel like we were on a boat

After entering the air-conditioned indoor, we found a variety of small food stands. Some of them seemed to open in the evening, so we did not get to try the Okinawan cuisine we were looking for, but there were many other great restaurants, too.

At first, we ordered at each restaurant, received a bell, and waited at our seats. When the bell rang, we went to the restaurant to pick up the food.

Later we realized that we could also order from the QR code on the menu list, so we then used my iPhone to place orders and picked it up at the restaurant.

It was a very hot day, but the indoor was air-conditioned and cool, and I was happy to enjoy the beautiful sky over a cold beer.

Oden Potato Salad from Ateliesta Restaurant was served with a whole potato with the skin on, and we mashed them by ourselves. The crunchy texture of the skin, the oden flavor, and the warm potatoes were a great match .

We also had Sashimi from Ichibanochikara and garlic shrimp from SEAGULL DINER. Everything was delicious, the beer was also great, and we had a great afternoon. It was a weekday, so there were not many people.
