“茶の湯 Cha no Yu”; the traditional tea ceremony flourished in this area, once called "Tenjin no Mori," at the end of the Muromachi period. An expert in tea ceremonies, Takeno Jōō first valued the quality of the spring water in the forest and built a tearoom for better matcha tea. Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who ruled Japan, also found the tea brilliant, and the place was named “天下茶屋 Tengachaya” after him. 天下 (Tenga) comes from his title “殿下 Denka,” and 茶屋 (Chaya) means a teahouse.
The concept of this house, “Tea and Relax” is inspired by the history of the place.
A garden view from 縁側 (Engawa); the veranda, comfortable mat space, and the fantastic bathrooms are all designed to provide a pleasant Japanese atmosphere.
We hope you enjoy the contemporary Tengachaya.
The landmark of Osaka, Tsutenkaku Tower was the tallest in the Far East when it was constructed and is still a popular sightseeing spot in Osaka.
Some of their main attractions are the newly built tower slider and the golden Biliken statue that brings good luck when you touch the soles of its feet. The surrounding area also includes a lot of fun places, such as Tennoji Zoo, Spa World, and Janjan Yokocho Shopping Street.
The skyscraper has restaurants, a department store, an art museum on the lower floors, and its observation deck at the point of 300 meter-high is a perfect place to view Osaka City. Its name "Harukasu" contains a wish for visitors' hearts to be brightened and cheered up.
